Plans and limits
Every call counts against the limits of its endpoint group (cycle analysis, DSP filters, consensus and so on) in your plan. A limit is a number of calls per second, per minute, per hour and per day; some plans add an allowance over a longer period. Nothing is charged for a call the API refuses.

The API calls the plans by tier ids: Tier:Anonymous (no account), Tier:Trial, Tier:Registered (account without a
plan), Tier:Guest (free tier), Tier:Usage (pay as you go), Tier:Pro, Tier:ProExtended, Tier:Developer
(Scale). my_limits and GET /api/me/limits show both the tier id and the plan name.
Without an account
An MCP client that runs on your own machine (Claude Code, Cursor, your own agent or script) can call the tools without signing in. The allowance belongs to the address you call from, so everyone behind one company network shares it. When it is used up, the tools say so; sign in to continue (disconnect and reconnect the server, it asks you to sign in) or add an API key.
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop) and ChatGPT call from their own servers, which many users share. There the connector asks you to sign in when you add it, and your account's allowance applies.
The 7-day trial
A new Cycles IQ account without a plan starts with seven days of the trial, whether you sign up in the app or from an
AI assistant: every endpoint group at the pay-as-you-go speed, the PRO features (PeakFinder, cycle stability), stored
datasets and streams. The cap for the whole trial is 2,000 calls per endpoint group. my_limits shows when your trial
ends. Afterwards the account keeps the free allowance of an account without a plan. If you need more time or calls for
an evaluation, ask.

A GET analysis of a market symbol (for example the market cycles or the consensus score of a symbol) counts in its own group and in "market analyses of a symbol"; the stricter of the two applies. In every plan above both have the same numbers.
The raw price bars of market data (get_dataset, get_dataset_series, update_dataset, and every route under
/api/data/ except the symbol search) are not part of any plan: they need the feature MarketDataAccess, granted on

Stream updates are never charged and never count toward a monthly cap.

The answer names your plan (plan) and tier (tier), the limits of every endpoint group with what you used today and
this month, the reason for every closed group, whether market data is included in your credential, and your trial with
its end date.
When you reach a limit
- 429 with
Retry-After: a rate limit. Wait the seconds the header names. Retrying at once does not help. - 429 for an allowance: the 30-day, trial or monthly allowance of the group is used up. The answer says until when. Without an account, the MCP tools answer "Free allowance used up" and tell you how to sign in.
- 403: the group is not part of your plan, or the route needs a feature. Waiting does not help; the message says what does. See Answers and errors.
