FAQ

Do I need an account? Not to try it. An MCP client on your own machine (Claude Code, Cursor, your own agent) and the try-out key wttpreview work without one, within a small free allowance. Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop) and ChatGPT ask you to sign in when you add the connector, because they call from shared servers. A new account is free and starts with a 7-day trial of everything. See Plans and limits.

What does it cost? Without an account, an account without a plan and the free tier for FSC members cost nothing. Pay as you go is billed per token and opens after the invitation phase; the prices are published then. Scale plans are set up on request. The Cycles IQ Membership includes full API and MCP access.

Can I get the prices of a market? Not in a plan. You can search every market and analyse it by id, but the answers carry the cycles, not the prices. The raw bars need the feature MarketDataAccess, granted on request for projects that need them. See Market data by id.

What data can I analyse? Any regular series of at least 100 values, oldest first: send it with the call, store it as a dataset, or name a market by its id. Prices, indicators, economic series, sensor data.

How many values should I send? At least 100. A cycle is measured reliably when the series holds several repetitions of it, so a 200-bar cycle needs many hundreds of bars. For the cyclic RSI keep the cycle length at most a third of the series length.

Why does my result differ from the Cycle Scanner app? Almost always different inputs: the app detrends with a Hodrick-Prescott filter and uses its own length window, Bartels limit and number of bars. Send the same settings (dType, minCycleLength, maxCycleLength, bartelsLimit, the same window) and the results match.

Why are stabilityScore and dominantRank 0? They come from the PRO features (cycle stability and the dominant-peak finder), included in the 7-day trial and the PRO-level plans. Without them both fields are 0: rank the cycles by strength and bartelsValue instead.

The API answers 429. What now? Wait the seconds Retry-After names and call again; retrying at once does not help. If the answer says an allowance is used up (30 days, the trial, or the monthly calls of the free tier), it tells you until when. Without an account you can sign in to continue. See Answers and errors.

The API answers 403. What now? The route is not part of your plan, or it needs a feature. Waiting does not help; the message says what to do, for example to sign in or to analyse a market by id instead of loading its bars.

How do I keep a series on the server? Store it once (store_dataset, or PUT /api/datasets/{name}) and name it with datasetid in later calls. The number and size of datasets depend on the plan; list_datasets or GET /api/datasets shows yours and your quota.

Who can see my datasets? Only you. Other users' calls cannot read your datasets.

Can I stream live bars? Yes, in the trial, in pay as you go and in the Scale plans, and for FSC members as their membership allows: push bars to your stream and analyse the stream like a dataset. Stream updates are never charged.

Is this investment advice? No. Cycles IQ measures cycles and projects them; decisions stay with you.

Answers of Cycles IQ are measurements and projections of cycles, not investment advice. Questions: support.
