MCP tools
The Cycles IQ connector gives an AI assistant fifteen tools for cycle analysis. You ask in plain language; the
assistant picks the tool. The address is https://api.cyclesiq.com/mcp; Getting started shows
how to connect Claude, Claude Code and other clients.
Cycles IQ analyses the series you give it. It provides no market data, takes no market symbols and returns no prices.
The tools
| You ask | Tool | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| "What is the dominant cycle? Where in the cycle are we? Project it." | cycle_explorer |
The dominant cycle: length, amplitude, phase, the bars to the next top and low, and on request the series with the cycle projected forward |
| "Which cycles are in this series?" | cycle_scanner |
Every significant cycle with its length, amplitude, strength, Bartels score and phase, ranked |
| "Is it bullish or bearish in cycle terms?" | consensus_score |
The cycle consensus from -100 to +100, with the reasoning step by step |
| "Where is the cyclic RSI against its bands?" | cyclic_rsi |
The cyclic RSI (CRSI) with its upper and lower band, the latest values |
| "Where did the trend turn?" | rsd_test |
The bars where the trend changed direction |
| "Remove the trend." | detrend |
The series without its trend, or the trend itself |
| "Smooth this series." | sav_gol, sinc_smoother |
The smoothed series (Savitzky-Golay, or the sharper sinc filter) |
| "Group these cycle lengths." | kde_cluster |
The lengths condensed into a few representative ones |
| "Which of my series move alike?" | dtw_clustering |
Groups of your stored datasets that move alike |
| "Keep this series for later." | store_dataset |
Stores the series under a name of your choice, or replaces the dataset of that name |
| "Which datasets do I have? Show me one." | list_datasets, get_stored_dataset |
Your datasets with their size and dates; the bars of one |
| "What does my plan allow? What did I use?" | my_limits |
Your plan, its limits and your usage |
| "What can this connector do?" | help |
The overview of the tools |
All tools only read or calculate, except store_dataset: it writes, and it replaces a dataset of yours that has the
same name. No tool deletes a dataset, and no tool reaches another user's data.
Giving the data
Every analysis takes the series one of two ways:
- The values themselves: more than 100 numbers, oldest first. The assistant passes what you paste, what a file holds or what another connector returned.
- A dataset by name: store the series once ("store these values as my dataset 'sales'") and name it in later questions. The values then stay out of the conversation, and a long series is analysed as fast as a short one.
The number and size of stored datasets depend on your plan. See Plans and limits.
Example prompts
- "List my datasets and find the dominant cycle of the first one."
- "Scan my dataset 'demo-cycles' for cycles between 10 and 150 bars and show the three strongest."
- "What does the cycle consensus say for my dataset 'demo-cycles'?"
- "Here are ten years of my monthly sales: (your numbers). Is there a cycle, and where are we in it?"
- "Get the last 500 daily closes of Microsoft from your market-data connector and find their dominant cycle with Cycles IQ."
Concepts explains how to read the answers: cycle length, amplitude, Bartels score, phase, the cyclic RSI and the consensus.
Limits
Every tool call counts once on your account, whatever the tool. help and my_limits are free. A new account runs
on the 7-day trial (300 calls a minute, 5,000 in the trial) and continues on the Free plan (20 a minute, 200 a day,
1,000 a month). Ask the assistant "what does my plan allow?" at any time. The details are in
Plans and limits.
Two options of the cycle scanner, the dominant-peak finder and the stability score, belong to the PRO features of the 7-day trial, pay as you go and Scale. On the other plans the scan still answers; the two extra fields stay 0.
When a call is refused
| The assistant reports | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A request to sign in, or 401 | The connector has no valid sign-in | Connect again in the client's connector settings and sign in. A sign-in from the second day on needs a confirmed e-mail address: use the link in the confirmation mail |
| 403 | The call is not part of your plan | The message says which plan includes it. Waiting does not help |
| 429 | A limit is reached: the speed, the day, or the allowance of the month or the trial | The message names the time to wait or the day the allowance resets. "What does my plan allow?" shows the numbers |
| "Not enough data" | The series is too short for a cycle analysis | Send more than 100 values |
| 404, no such dataset | No dataset of yours has that name | "List my datasets" shows the names |
If something else goes wrong, write to service@marketzeitgeist.com or see the support page.
Your data
The connector receives the series you send and the names you give your datasets. Stored datasets are private to your account. The conversation itself stays with your assistant: Cycles IQ sees the tool calls, not the chat. The details are in the privacy policy.
